Mohammad Tamim Karimi is the CEO of Avezha, a high-end, eco-friendly, and animal-free fashion start-up based in the United States, inspired by his passion for protecting the environment and endangered animals. After fleeing his home country, Afghanistan, amid the fall of the Republic in August 2021, Tamim relocated as a refugee to the United States in 2023. He is also the president and co-founder of the Rumi Organization for Research (ROR), a non-profit dedicated to improving access to education and water management in Afghanistan. Tamim holds a BA in International Relations and an MA in Central Asian Studies from the American University of Central Asia. He was an International Strategy Forum fellow in 2024 and a fellow within the Open Society University Network’s Threatened Scholars Initiative in 2023 and 2024.
