Humayon Habib is an experienced agricultural economist, business founder, and advocate for immigrant entrepreneurship. He previously served as the Director of Agriculture, Irrigation, and Livestock (DAIL) in Samangan and Kapisa Provinces of Afghanistan, working under the Ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation, and Livestock (MAIL). With over nine years of experience in government and international organizations, he has contributed to agricultural policy development, economic planning, and sustainable rural development. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Economics and Extension from Kabul University and a Master’s in Agricultural Economics and Statistics from Marathwada Agricultural University, India. Additionally, he earned a Postgraduate Diploma in Sustainable Rural Development from the National Institute of Rural Development (NIRD) in India. His professional training includes leadership, agricultural development, gender equality, food processing and marketing, climate change adaptation, and industrial infrastructure planning. After the Taliban takeover in 2021, he and his family were forced to flee Afghanistan. They lived as refugees in Greece for ten months before resettling in Canada. Arriving with limited resources, he faced the challenge of rebuilding his life from the ground up. Determined to create opportunities for himself and others, he turned to entrepreneurship to start working on importing of Green coffee. My venture aims to introduce high-quality, healthy food and beverage options while supporting immigrant workers and aspiring entrepreneurs.
