Esmatullah Mohib

Esmatullah Mohib is a pioneering media professional and entrepreneur, serving as the Founder and CEO of Zawia Media—Afghanistan’s first digital media company. Launched in January 2019, Zawia Media has redefined media consumption for the country’s dynamic youth by offering an innovative alternative to traditional outlets. Under his leadership, the venture has expanded to include sister platforms such as Zawia News, Zawia Music, and Zawia Cartoons, along with the launch of ZAWIA FM 91.6—a radio station broadcasting across 15 provinces.

In recognition of his efforts, he was selected as a rising leader for the CELA 2021 Leadership Academy, an initiative that nurtures visionary talent from the region. He holds double master’s degrees from England—an MPA from University College London and an MA in International Communications and Development—as well as a BSc (Hons) in Multimedia Technology and Design from Brunel University London.

Driven by a mission to reflect diverse realities through technology, he continues to innovate and inspire in the evolving landscape of digital media. His platforms have attracted over 3 million followers and over 100 million views. Mohib is committed to showcasing diverse perspectives through digital innovation.
